I really couldn’t tell you… But she’s caught alot of hell for it.

I can’t see all the hell going on around this situation and not comment.

So… I read the Zayn/Lux  fanfiction, and honestly, no, I did not find it funny. It was not funny. Not even in the slightest bit. The girl that wrote it clearly has some psychological issues and for her and her friends to find it funny is clearly in both poor taste and judgement. They should have ALL realized that no one would have found a story about two young men raping/molesting an eight month old funny. Especially, when said young men clearly adore this little girl and would never do anything to put her in harm’s way. It’s just repugnant.

It also wasn’t smart of her to put it out on Tumblr. One of her friends no doubt showed it to someone else, someone who doesn’t share their disturbed sense of humor but is also a 1D fan, and most likely that’s how it got spread around. She lit the match and threw it on dry wood; the most she could hope for was some rain (in other words, for no one to care), but (predictably, actually) she now has to deal with how quickly this fire spread. I mean, look at what happens to men and women in prison who commit crimes of that sort to children! They are automatically put in to solitary confinement simply for their own safety, or else eventually be killed. Now, how on earth do you think anybody else would react? 

Of course she caught hell for it. When I read the story, I nearly cried. It was that disturbing. She crossed a line. She crossed a huge line. Even in the realm of fanfiction, that’s not something you do. You don’t basically slander someone like that for the sake of entertainment. You just don’t. Even regular novels don’t cross that line. 

Now, here’s where I get to my other point of contention: Was she wrong for posting that, regardless of the fact that she posted it on a tumblr with nearly zero page views? Very much so. That was careless, stupid, and vile, as well as potentially illegal. Did she deserve to be told as much? Definitely. Should she have apologized? Yes, and she did. However, certain things have to be taken into account:

1. For the amount of hell this has caused, there is no way in hell that the boys, as well as Lux’s mother, have not heard about this. I’m pretty sure their management team, as well as the boys, are doing everything possible to assure her that Lux is perfectly safe with the boys and that this is nothing more than a vicious lie.
2. This girl is human. Hard to believe but true. Therefore, it is in fact possible to tell her that she is wrong without making her fear for her safety when she goes out in public, or is at school, etc. I understand that this is upsetting, but please be rational. Expletives and death threats are going to get you NO WHERE.
3. As I write this, a rumor has gotten out that Lou Teasdale, Lux’s mother, has resigned from her post as the boys’ hairstylist in response to all the negativity surrounding this whole situation. I pray that this is not true.
   
   
4. Please, for all of the Chicago-area 1D fans, please do not, if you see and recognize the girl in question, threaten her with violence. It will not do well for the boys to have that impression of you.

I understand that everyone is angry about this. I’m not even going to bother trying to act like i’m not. But I am also not going to justify sending this girl hate messages. She apologized, she is sorry, she admitted that she used poor judgement, and she would like to move on from the whole thing. It would do all of us, as fans, some good if we moved on, as well as for the boys’, Lou, and Lux. There has been enough negativity and hate for one day.

Sooo, Rant

I work at a restaurant as a hostess. And as a hostess, it is my job to seat the arriving parties in a timely fashion, take down reservations and call aheads, and make sure that people do not seat themselves at a table, especially when tables are on a wait. Also, it is my job to make sure that your server gets to your table and greets you in a timely fashion. That being said, it is extremely annoying when people decide to seat themselves at the tables that are around the bar. 

Make no mistake; this is the pet peeve of hostesses all over. As I stated earlier, it is my job to tell servers what tables they have so that they may greet you in a timely fashion. This includes the tables around the bar. In other words, NO, you may not seat yourself at a table that is around the bar just because it is a bar/pub side table. Yes, unfortunately, this does in fact mean you will still have to wait for even the small two top tables around the bar. I have to seat those. You must wait for whatever reason it is I give you. Nine times out of ten, it will have to do with how many people got sat before you did, as well as with the people who came in before you and are in the wait line before you, or how backed up the kitchen is or will get. If you don’t feel like waiting, go somewhere else.

I don’t mean to sound like a bitch. But when you go to a restaurant and you want to sit at, specifically, a table that is by the bar, and not at the bar itself, do yourself, the servers, barstaff, and hostess/host a favor and ask first. If they tell you its okay, by all means go ahead, but if not ask if there’s a wait for them. On a weeknight, you’ll probably be seated immediately. But on a friday/saturday, expect to wait. Or, as I stated earlier, go somewhere else. Normally, the wait won’t be all that long (unless its a chain fine dining restaurant; then expect to wait regardless of what day you go in. If its just an uber popular local restaurant, see above.).
